Our Mission and Core Values

OUR MISSION:  To deliver a fair, independent and effective prosecution service on behalf of all the people of Ireland

The staff of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions act in the public interest to deliver on our mission and the key priorities outlined in our Strategy Statements.  In doing so we are guided by five core values:

  • Acting honestly, fairly, consistently and objectively, in accordance with the Code of Ethics
  • Making fair and right decisions based on evidence

  • Upholding the independence of the Office of the DPP
  • Acting impartially without fear, favour, bias or prejudice, in line with the Guidelines for Prosecutors and Code of Ethics
